组装指南
2-3 hoursBeginner
1
Procurement & Preparation
- Source and inspect the core components including AMS117-5.0 regulator, ATMEGA328P-AU microcontroller, and RC0805FR-07220RL 220 Ohm resistor.
- Prepare the PCB stencil and layout the components on the anti-static workbench.
2
Hardware Assembly & Wiring
- Apply solder paste to the PCB pads for the USB 5V input and AMS117-5.0 regulator module.
- Place the Microchip ATmega328P-AU and the 220 Ohm resistor (RC0805FR-07220RL) onto their designated landing pads.
- Pass the populated PCB through the reflow oven to solder all surface-mount components, establishing the VCC, GND, and PB5 GPIO connections.
3
Firmware Setup
- Connect the ISP programmer to the ATmega328P-AU header on the assembled board.
- Flash the pre-compiled blinking LED firmware binary onto the Microchip ATmega328P to configure GPIO pin PB5 as an output.
4
Testing & Calibration
- Plug a 5V USB power source into the USB input to power the AMS117-5.0 regulator and system board.
- Observe the LED connected via the 220 Ohm resistor to verify it toggles on and off correctly, confirming successful execution of the blinking routine.

Trade-offs: Lower BOM; tighter margins and more software compensation.
Key IC selection
main MCU
- Need: Execute simple digital toggle logic with sufficient GPIO and flash memory for beginner-level sketches.
- Class: 8-bit AVR RISC Microcontroller
- Shortlist: Microchip ATmega328P, Microchip ATmega328PB
- Pick: Select standard ATmega328P in TQFP or DIP package based on form factor and legacy Arduino ecosystem compatibility.
voltage regulator
- Need: Step down USB 5V or external DC input to a stable 5V rail for the microcontroller logic.
- Class: Low-Dropout Linear Regulator (LDO)
- Shortlist: Advanced Monolithic Systems AMS1117-5.0, Microchip MCP1702-5002E
- Pick: Select AMS1117-5.0 in SOT-223 package for cost-effective standard linear regulation matching classic Arduino designs.
Risk register
| ID | Area | Severity | Detail | Mitigation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| r1 | thermal | low | AMS1117 linear regulator may experience minor self-heating when powered from a higher external DC jack, though minimal for a simple LED load. | Ensure adequate copper pour around the SOT-223 tab for thermal dissipation if supporting higher auxiliary loads. |
| r2 | supply | med | ATmega328P availability and pricing fluctuations can impact low-cost educational board production. | Design footprint to optionally support pin-compatible variants like the ATmega328PB as an alternative source. |
