AOS
DHT20 is an official upgrade-path candidate for DHT11 with I2C output.
DHT11 replacements need care because many newer sensors use I2C instead of the DHT11 single-wire protocol. DHT20 is the clearest upgrade-path candidate, but it is not verified as drop-in.
Supply ranges mostly overlap, but 5V use must be checked.
SIP-4 candidates still lack verified pinout.
I2C parts need new firmware.
DHT20 and AHT25 are Active.
Direct replacement for DHT11 should use only Datasheet verified or Strong match candidates; many approved options still require engineering review.
Start with DHT20 for an ASAIR upgrade path, then verify pinout and update firmware for I2C.
The main risk is protocol and pinout mismatch.

Verified drop-in options for DHT11 are limited in the current batch. Review candidates marked Strong match or Datasheet verified, and validate package, pinout, and electrical limits before committing a BOM change.
